Organized in collaboration with the DOST-ASTI Blockchain Research Group (through the DataProtect-SIERRA project), Department of Computer Technology of De La Salle University, and the Quantum Computing Society of the Philippines (QCSP), this initiative bridges theory and practice through engaging lectures, hands-on programming, and a culminating hackathon.

What will you learn?

This program will consist of 14 weeks of sessions and activities. It will be divided into two parts but the intersection of Quantum and Blockchain will always be discussed.

Quantum Computing (9 Saturdays)

Online, every Saturday, at 4-7PM starting March 1 to April 26, 2025.

  • Introduction to qubits, superposition, entanglement, and quantum gates.
  • Hands-on quantum programming using IBM Quantum Experience and Qiskit.
  • Learn quantum algorithms: Deutsch-Josza, Grover’s, Shor’s Algorithm.
  • Explore applications in cryptography, AI, and optimization.
  • Introduction to post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution (QKD).

Blockchain (4 Fridays)

Online, every Friday, at 4-7PM starting May 2 to May 23, 2025.

  • Learn the evolution of blockchain from Bitcoin to modern decentralized applications.
  • Understand cryptographic security and consensus mechanisms.
  • Hands-on smart contract development and deployment.
  • Explore real-world use cases and blockchain’s role in secure transactions.
